The Olympic Flame

Yesterday my wee town celebrated a once in a lifetime event...the passing of the Olympic Flame! I've been looking forward to it for months...the only downfall was that it reached us at the unearthly hour of 06:49! I was worried that there'd only be a few bothered to get up that early...but I couldn't have been more wrong! The town was buzzing! It was great! ...and the weather was kind to us too! (rain is always a risk in Northern Ireland!!) Our local radio d.j. Pete Snodden carried the torch!
I am so glad I made the effort to roll out of my nice cost bed!

The Balmoral Show

It's my favourite week of the year...the week of Northern Ireland's biggest Agricultural show. I don't know that I've ever missed a year. Even though we don't have the farm any more I still wouldn't miss it. My daughter was a bit young last year to really enjoy it, what a difference there was this year... at 18 months she took in everything. Her wee eyes were like saucers the whole day looking at all the animals, tractors, back flipping motorbikes. I think she was even a bit in awe of the crowds!
All in all a fantastic day was had by all...& the weather was kind to us too.
