The Olympic Flame

Yesterday my wee town celebrated a once in a lifetime event...the passing of the Olympic Flame! I've been looking forward to it for months...the only downfall was that it reached us at the unearthly hour of 06:49! I was worried that there'd only be a few bothered to get up that early...but I couldn't have been more wrong! The town was buzzing! It was great! ...and the weather was kind to us too! (rain is always a risk in Northern Ireland!!) Our local radio d.j. Pete Snodden carried the torch!
I am so glad I made the effort to roll out of my nice cost bed!

Scarf solutions!

I have the biggest addiction to buying scarves! I just can't help myself. When I see the glorious colours I can't help but imagine how much more perfect my life would be with them in it! ...as you can imagine with a problem like this I soon encountered the problem of storage. Putting them in pretty wicker boxes was nice & tidy, but I couldn't see most of them & forgot all about the ones at the bottom. After a lot of thought I have come up with a solution... I got an old wooden ladder, sanded it, painted it with a few coats of white paint & voila... My stairway to Heaven (sorry, I couldn't help myself)

Sunny Ireland

Isn't this weather amazing?! We had the most beautiful weekend in Donegal, but to be honest I feel like I've been to the Mediterranean. It's glorious! I love how beautiful everything looks in the sun & how happy it makes people. We visited the beach & had country walks, drank Magners & watched movies. Family life is magic and I am thankful for all my blessings.

The Balmoral Show

It's my favourite week of the year...the week of Northern Ireland's biggest Agricultural show. I don't know that I've ever missed a year. Even though we don't have the farm any more I still wouldn't miss it. My daughter was a bit young last year to really enjoy it, what a difference there was this year... at 18 months she took in everything. Her wee eyes were like saucers the whole day looking at all the animals, tractors, back flipping motorbikes. I think she was even a bit in awe of the crowds!
All in all a fantastic day was had by all...& the weather was kind to us too.

BlueBell Wood.

My mum lost her father when she was very young, and one of her lasting memories is of him taking her and her brothers & sister to walk in a wood filled with bluebells. Since then she has always adored these wild flowers.
In recent years we have discovered the wonder of Portglenone Forest, and it's unbelievable coverage of bluebells. One of the best in Europe someone once told us (I have no idea how true this statement is) so every year around this time we pack up the car & set off for Portglenone on our annual pilgrimage to the Bluebells.

Pimp my caravan

I have always had a dreamt of owning & doing up a vintage 70s caravan...nice Cath Kidson style florals...or sweet polka dots...& my husband, the wonder that he is...who embraces my random dreams bought me this! To everyone else it would be the worst present ever...but to me it was more than perfect! I was ecstatic! All I have to do now is work out when I'll have time to pimp it with a 1 year old who is far too keen to help me with everything! ! I know there is a LOT of hard work ahead of me! But I am just overflowing with ideas!! Watch this space!

My wish

I found this today & my heart skipped a beat. The words are lyrics to the song 'My Wish' by the Rascall Flats...& that song was given to
me by my boyfriend (now husband) when we had been together just a few months...the first song he dedicated to me. I wonder could I get it printed. ( I'm not even sure my husband would remember now)
